Established 2004
The purpose of this CW Elementary PTO is to enhance the well-being, academic experience, and positive learning environment for every student at Winchester Trail and Indian Trail Elementary Schools. We seek to foster a culture of collaboration, respect, and inclusivity within the school community. We strive to aid the school and its students through fundraising, volunteerism, and by providing a platform for positive communication and collaboration between parents, teachers and community.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between PTA and PTO?
The main difference is their affiliation and organizational structure. A PTA (Parent-Teacher Association) is a formally affiliated unit of the National Parent Teacher Association, following their national policies and guidelines, while a PTO (Parent-Teacher Organization) is an independent organization that sets its own rules and policies. Both, however, aim to support and improve the school community.
Is the PTO for both elementary school buildings?
Yes! Our PTO is for both Winchester and Indian Trail. It’s an interesting set up but we do our best doing as much as we can for such a large student population.
What does it take to be in the PTO?
Anyone who has a student who attends Winchester or Indian Trail school is automatically a member of the PTO! There are no fees, no commitment, and no prior experience necessary!
Do I have to attend EVERY meeting if I attend ONE meeting?
No! You can come to any or all meetings that work for you.
What happens at a PTO meeting?
We hear about PTO financials, get updates about school events and learn what's going on in classrooms.
Why should I get involved in the PTO?
Get to know some of the school teachers, our principals, and connect with other parents. Learn more about the school. Help make decisions that affect your school and your child. Research shows that parent involvement greatly affects the success rate of students in a positive way. IT'S FUN!
Am I required to be a volunteer if I join PTO?
No. We encourage our members to volunteer if they are able, but recognize that everyone has many demands on their time.
How do I volunteer?
Parent volunteers play a vital role in creating our thriving school community. There are endless ways — both big and small — for you to get involved with the PTO. Whether you help out in person or drop off much-needed supplies, your actions directly connect to the mission of the PTO. Subscribe to get news on needed volunteers.
